I was the archivist for the Arthur Erickson archives at the Canadian Centre for Architecture. I just noticed that Erickson’s home in Vancouver is up for sale. Erickson also had a supposed entirely glass house on Fire Island in NY with a retractable roof. After a lot of detective work in the archives and on Google satellite view, I never found the address of the house but I wonder if it still exists…

Cartoon Archives

I used to work in the archives of Columbia’s Avery Architectural & Fine Arts Library and I miss those times. The libraries there are awesome. Here is a link about how the RBML is acquiring a cartoonist’s archive. Columbia’s RBML has the most interesting collections! I hope to cross over one day into literary manuscript archiving.
